Once the heart of Seattle, Pioneer Square retains its century-old charm with with brick buildings and cobblestone streets. This is the place to go to experience Seattle’s early history. Visitors can explore the history of the neighborhood by embarking in local tours such as the underground passageways, the Tlingit totem pole in Pioneer Park and or visit Smith Tower, Seattle’s oldest skyscraper. The square is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
